2010 Scholarship Appeal
Supporting PCPA's Summer Company

PCPA Theaterfest has launched the 2010 Scholarship Appeal campaign with the goal of raising $150,000 by June 30th.

This summer, nearly 200 gifted actors, designers and technicians will descend on the Central Coast from points all across the country. Their mission is to make possible PCPA's season of productions such as Curtains, Sylvia and West Side Story at the level of quality our patrons have come to expect from PCPA.

Donations to the scholarship fund can be made online at www.pcpa.org - click on 2010 Scholarship Appeal - or by calling the PCPA Foundation (805) 349-9135.

This year we’re counting on the community to contribute $150,000 toward the half a million dollars which PCPA awards every year in scholarships to promising young artists. Since PCPA students work six-day weeks and typically twelve-hour days, holding down a part time job is not an option. It's scholarship money that allows our actors and technicians to train in such an intense and professional environment. Without them, PCPA could not exist.

"Last year, after waiting twenty years to play the role of Jean Valjean in Les Misérables, my dream came true at PCPA.

Working closely with the students throughout the rehearsal process and during the entire run of the show, I was amazed at their commitment, their dedication and their artistry.

Trained to be the best they can be, PCPA students know that in the demanding world of show business, just being very talented is not enough. A strong work ethic, perseverance and resolve are crucial to success. This one-of-a-kind program in the nation uniquely trains and positions this young talent for their launch into the professional world.

Thank you for supporting these wonderful students. Please give generously to the 2010 Scholarship Appeal; your gifts could not be more appreciated."
