9-Month Technical Internships:
The Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts is currently accepting internship applications for its 2010-2011 Fall/Spring season. Work side by side with the professionals at California’s Central Coast Resident Professional Theatre. Internships are available in Scenic, Lighting, Sound and Costume Design, as well as in Stage Management, Costume Crafts, Props, Carpentry and Scene Painting.

Musical Director Internship

The Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts (PCPA Theaterfest), a year-round Equity theater company and professional training conservatory at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, CA, seeks a MUSIC DIRECTION/CONDUCTING INTERN for its 2010-11 season.

This is a paid scholarship position.
Preferred requirements: Bachelors degree in music (preferably piano or voice) or equivalent experience, experience working as a music director/vocal coach for theatrical productions, and excellent piano and piano sight-reading skills.

Position is designed for one seeking future employment in professional theater as a music director, vocal coach, or conductor and will be mentored by PCPA’s Resident Musical Director.

Responsibilities include rehearsal accompanist for musical theater classes and professional productions, assisting student and professional actors with music preparation, assisting the music director in rehearsal, conducting performances, travel to audition sites during a 5-6 week casting tour in January/February, and other duties and projects as determined.

Qualified applicants should submit a cover letter and resumé with at least three references and a recording of your piano skills, preferably a dance break from West Side Story and a song by Jason Robert Brown, to:
