Teaching Philosophy:

I believe in teaching important life skills through the medium of theatre. Theatre is not always the right path for everyone, but the lessons taught here can be applied to more than just theatre.

My teaching philosophy is that all complex topics can be broken down into simple fundamental ideas. These fundamental ideas are what help us solve some of life’s challenges. I believe in teaching these fundamentals through the medium of theatre. While it is important to know how to build a flat, I find it is more important for a student to know how to read a tape measure. Generating a cut list is critical for the success of the project but knowing how to add and subtract fractions is much more critical for success in a student’s in life.

As an instructor, I believe in fostering an environment to nurture a student’s personal growth and strengthening their passion and desire for success. I want to make sure that when a student leaves this program, they have the ability to critically think and creatively solve problems.
