FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 2009 Free Theatre Ticket Offer Returns
PCPA is pleased to announce the returning offer of free tickets for members of the military and their family, made possible by the generosity of the families of Drs. Daniel and Ronald Ng. This offer is made to active duty military, their spouses, and dependents. They may attend any PCPA performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream for free, subject to existing funds in this special account and ticket availability. "This is a tremendous opportunity for families -- parents, grandparents, and grandkids -- to come to the theatre together and enjoy one of the most popular holiday stories and witness this brand new stage version," commented Artistic Director Mark Booher. Shakespeare's enchanted romantic comedy is a delightful fantasy reveling in and revealing that "the course of true love never did run smooth." Whether in the conflicts of Athenian lovers, or the inventions of the woodland fairy world, this rhyming romp balances the discontents of civilization with the power of imagination to enlighten, enliven and transform. Members of the military are asked to contact the box office to make arrangements to attend A Midsummer Night's Dream , call (805) 922-8313. In addition to A Midsummer Night's Dream PCPA's 45th Anniversary season includes Les Misérables, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Music Man, The Spitfire Grill, and Distracted. Now in its 45th season, PCPA Theaterfest is the Central Coast’s Resident Professional Theatre Company, and has infused the national theatre scene with thousands of trained actors and theatrical technicians over the years in its conservatory.
