PCPA's Education and Outreach Tour
Breaking Through
Limited Engagement

The sequel to The Circuit, Breaking Through, adapted by Leo Cortez from the Francisco Jimenez memoir, will be the 2017 Outreach Tour. This limited engagement tour is available to schools throughout Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties from February 1 - March 3.
It is appropriate for grades 3 - 12.
In this installment of the trilogy, we pick up the story of Pancho and his family after they’ve been deported to Mexico.  In a brave move to return to Santa Maria, the family applies for legal entry to the United States. But in the months and years that follow, Pancho and his family face poverty, long hours of field labor, and prejudice. These hardships are lessened for Pancho, as his dream to continue his education at Santa Maria High School becomes a reality. But a division between father and son grows wider when Pancho gets a scholarship to attend college and must move away from his family. It quickly becomes clear that the family’s financial future is destined for failure if the family does not stay together. Four PCPA Acting Interns comprise the cast of 24 characters.
PCPA Outreach productions are adaptable to perform in multipurpose rooms, libraries, and auditoriums. Post-performance discussions with the actors are offered as part of the package. Bookings are available Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm. To book an Outreach Tour performance visit www.pcpa.org and fill out the Outreach Order Form on the Outreach page, or call (805) 928-7731 ext. 3156.

Public schools in Santa Barbara county may be eligible for a discount through the Children's Creative Project - SB office (805) 964-4711.
