PCPA THEATERFEST
OFFERS TWO
SUMMER CAMPS FOR YOUNG ACTORS

PCPA Theaterfest is offering two summer theatre camps for young aspiring actors. The Young People’s Project (YPP) is designed for 13 to 18 year olds and runs from July 11 through July 18.

This program allows young adults to explore the world of an artist and actor. Through workshops taught by professional staff of the PCPA Theaterfest summer company, students engage their minds, body and spirit to build a foundation for dramatic creativity. Students are encouraged to express ideas and collaborate as a group, in order to create a one hour showcase. The showcase will be shared with family and friends on the final Saturday of the eight day program.

Daily sessions are from 9 am to 5 pm. The Young People's Project is held at the PCPA Conservatory and includes vouchers to attend three PCPA summer productions.

YPP is followed by YPP Jr. for ages 7 to 13. It runs from July 26 through August 1.

Young actors will explore the three disciplines of theatre; acting, singing and dance. Each enrolled student and one parent will have dinner with our staff and attend a performance of Meredith Willson’s The Music Man in Santa Maria’s Marian Theatre.

The program is a week-long series of interactive workshops that runs from 9 am to 1 pm daily Sunday through Saturday. At the end of the week long project, students will share a performance they created themselves for invited family and friends.
