Jessa Smith Campbell
Jessa Smith Campbell is an actor, playwright, lyricist, and composer. She studied Musical Theatre at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and has trained at the Stella Adler Academy and the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles, CA. Currently, she's a writer in the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop – the foremost training ground for emerging theatremakers. She has performed in feature films, television series, music videos, and numerous theatrical productions.
In 2020, Jessa wrote a one-act play titled North Carolina, 2028 which competed in the Strawberry One-Act Festival in New York City. Following its success, she fostered a true passion for creating women-driven pieces and began the first draft of Woven, an original musical inspired by the female characters of Homer's The Odyssey. Woven debuted at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2023 to an overwhelmingly positive response from critics and audiences alike. Jessa is incredibly proud of the project – now in its second year of development with the help of fellow playwright and lyricist, Julie MacLean.
In 2023, Jessa founded Nine Muses Theatre Co.
