Joe Asselin

Joe Asselin is a recognized blues musician and singer‑songwriter based just outside Nashville, and he is especially excited to work with the PCPA on his first-ever theatre production; an opportunity he calls the most rewarding and creatively fulfilling of his 30‑year music career. A former member of The Kilborn Alley Blues Band, Joe earned multiple Blues Music Award nominations for albums he helped shape with his unmistakable tone and deep blues sensibility. His expressive harmonica work has also made him a sought‑after session player throughout the Nashville area.

From his home studio, Joe records, writes, produces, mixes, and masters all his music, continually expanding his craft. Over the past few years, he has learned the basics of bass guitar, drums, and home recording, giving him the tools to create and shape the music for this production entirely on his own. Creating original Delta blues inspired music for Shane and the PCPA sits perfectly in his wheelhouse, blending raw tradition with theatrical storytelling in a way that feels both natural and new.

Listeners can explore his latest album, It’s All the Same, at joeasselin.com, a vivid snapshot of his evolving artistry.
