Julie MacLean

Julie MacLean is a playwright, lyricist, and screenwriter with a passion for storytelling. After receiving her B.A. in Theatre and Creative Writing from Colby College, she moved to the West Coast to pursue a writing career. For several years she worked in the development department at Lakeshore Entertainment, where she helped writers and producers craft stories that would eventually make it to the big screen. When she wasn’t working, she honed her skills at the Upright Citizens’ Brigade and iO West, and performed stand-up comedy at venues like The Comedy Store and Flappers.  Her work has placed in several highly regarded screenwriting competitions. She is passionate about uplifting marginalized voices and representing underrepresented communities. Most of all, she is so excited to be working with Jessa and PCPA to develop such an incredible project.
