The Theatre Lives On
Can you picture thirty-two talented conservatory graduates, their faces beaming with pride, ready to embark on their artistic journeys? Now, envision a heartwarming reunion of over 100 alums, sharing laughter and memories of working, learning, and living as theatre professionals.
Your gifts made these moments possible.
From the bustling energy of the new stagecraft building to the state-of-the-art theater upgrades, your contribution turned simple spaces into havens of creativity. And on stage, storytelling magic came alive for more than 50,000 patrons. Swords clashed in Henry V. Families roared with laughter watching Buddy the Elf’s heartwarming journey in Elf, The Musical. In The Play That Goes Wrong, a set fell apart night after night, only to be reborn for the next performance.
But there’s more. The powerful resonance of Cabaret continues to impress the community. One patron shared with us,
“I have seen Cabaret perhaps a dozen times by professional theater companies, and this was the most powerful, impactful version I’ve ever seen. It is a testament to how theater can affect all of us.”
Your gifts made these and other excellent performances possible.
Community Impact
The impact of theatre moved beyond the stage. Hundreds, if not thousands of students, were energized by the power of theater. Kitty Balay and her team in PCPA Reads read to more than 5000 students. One student spontaneously remarked,
“When you read, I can hear the pictures!”
PCPA’s outreach tour provided theatrical engagements and education to over 5100 elementary students from Paso Robles to Santa Barbara. That’s forty-three performances across twenty-one schools! Additionally, PCPA provided after-school theatre classes at Santa Maria High School.
Your gifts make education and inspiration possible for students.
More Awesome Impact
What do these employers have in common: Disney, Barbizon, 4Wall, Princess Cruise TAIT: These employers love PCPA!
The Technical Conservatory was chosen to be a part of a special program called the USITT Pathways Program. This program helps students from communities that don’t always get the same opportunities in the live entertainment industry.
Imagine a group of students who love theater, but maybe they don’t know anyone who works in the field or have the money to go to big conferences. The Pathways Program helps these students by giving them mentors who work for amazing companies like Disney and 4Wall. These mentors help the students learn about the industry and even get jobs!
The Technical Conservatory gets to be part of this program for four years! This means that each year, four lucky students will get to go to a huge national convention where they can meet people from all parts of the entertainment world.
The program also took students on backstage tours at Disney, where they got to see how everything works and even learn about jobs they could have someday. It’s like getting a peek behind the magic!
Your gifts are building the future for live theatre.
You are Invited
As we prepare to raise the curtain on Season 61, you are invited to partner with us. Your support will once again be the driving force behind our theatrical success. When the annual appeal arrives in your mailbox in December, we hope you’ll consider making another generous gift.
Together, we can create meaningful communities.
