Information Collection and Use

PCPA is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We collect information from our users at several different points on our Website to provide you with an efficient and helpful experience while using the Website. Your privacy and security are important to us. Please read this Privacy statement carefully to understand how we will use and protect your Personal Information (defined below). We will never share your Personal Information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not accept this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services. We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy from time to time, so please check back periodically. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement.

We collect both Personal Information and Non-personal Information about you when you visit our Website. “Personal Information” refers to information that lets us know the specifics of who you are and can be used to identify, contact or locate you. We may also collect and use Personal Information to verify your identity when you conduct a transaction with us through our Website, including purchasing tickets for events, merchandise, donating to PCPA, searching for information, or otherwise volunteer information about yourself. Examples of Personal Information include your first name together with your last name, your credit card number (if making a purchase), mailing address and/or email address and phone number. “Non Personal Information” refers to information that does not by itself identify you or a specific individual, but might include you in a collection of demographic information, which web pages of ours are most often visited, and which of our productions are either receiving the most ticket purchases or website visits. We may collect Non Personal Information through any of the methods discussed above as well as automatically through use of industry standard technologies discussed further below.

Personal Information is collected directly from you when you voluntarily visit our Website and  email us – either directly to one of our email addresses or through an email hyperlink – or purchase tickets or products from us. If we receive an email from you we collect your first and last name, email address, and any content included in your email. If you are ordering tickets, purchasing products, making donations to PCPA, or otherwise entering into a transaction involving a payment by you to us we will collect and maintain your name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, ticket or selection information, donation amounts (if applicable), credit card number (or check or money order information if using such payment methods while ordering via mail), order tracking number, referring URL, IP address and a password. Before confirming your order, you will have the opportunity to review the order form and make changes and additions to the information it contains and these changes will automatically be kept for future use. If you cancel an order or do not complete an order we may collect and use any email address or other information that you have entered as we would collect and use it if you had completed an order.

We also collect information from visitors to our Website, even if you do not make an order, purchase tickets, purchase merchandise, or make a donation to PCPA, through technology. This includes our use of “cookies,” behavioral-based advertising, and web analytics services hosed by third parties, such as Google Analytics. “Cookies” are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on the hard drive of your computer or memory of your hand-held devices. Cookies assign to your computer or device a unique number that has no meaning outside of our Website, and generally do not contain any personally identifying information. Not accepting cookies might prevent certain features of our Website from being available to you. “Behavioral-based advertising uses cookies to collect information about your use of our Website to provide advertising about products and services tailored to your interests as indicated by your use of the Website. Web analytic services, such as Google Analytics, uses cookies generated by visits to our Website to help us analyze how visitors use the Website to interact and communicate with us. Personal Information and Non-Personal Information can be collected by us whenever you take any of the following actions: create an account with us; purchase tickets for shows and events; subscribe with us for purchases of products or tickets; make a donation to us; or sign up with us for email notifications or our PCPA Newsletter. In addition, as is the case with any website, our Website automatically collects information through technology as described in this statement.

Our Website also allows you to visit some areas anonymously, without registering as a user. You should know, however, that we may collect IP addresses automatically from computers whenever using an internet service provider, which remain logged on our server.

PCPA Newsletter

To receive our E-News, a user fills in an online form that requests First Name, Last Name, and E-mail Address . The only required field to join is the E-mail address that is used to send monthly newsletters with information about PCPA. Topics include opening performances, new links on our web site, or special offers or discounted tickets. Each newsletter contains an opt-out option that gives the user the ability to remove their name and information from the newsletter database. Also see Opt-in and Opt-out below.

Online Ticket Purchases and Online Forms

We use several forms on our web site to obtain specific information. There are multiple forms for ordering tickets to performances, a form to contact PCPA and to be added to our mailing list, and a form to sign-up for our electronic newsletter. Ticket purchases require specific information regarding the performance(s) users wish to purchase along with personal contact information (e.g. name and address) and payment information (e.g. credit card number, expiration date). This information is secured and used for billing purposes and to complete the customer’s order. Upon submitting the form, this information is sent directly to the Box Office Manager who processes, or oversees, the processing of the order. This information becomes part of PCPA’s ticketing software database to be used for future ticket purchase verifications and for soliciting tickets for upcoming seasons. If we should have trouble processing an order, the information will be used to contact the user. This personal information is not retained, shared, or stored with any company other than PCPA.

Use of Information Collected

Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, we do not sell, trade or rent your Personal Information collected on the Website to others. From time to time, we may trade mailing lists with other arts organizations for the purposes of conducting one-time mailings. We will, however, disclose your Personal Information to our third party service providers, including companies we retain as consultants to conduct research on our behalf. These third parties may not use your Personal Information other than to provide the services requested by us. With respect to Non Personal Information, we also share website usage information we gather from visitors to the Website who have received a targeted promotional campaign with our third-party advertising service partners for the purpose of targeting future campaigns and upgrading visitor information used in reporting statistics, in some cases through the use of web beacons. Additionally, we may provide aggregated statistics about our customers, sales, traffic patterns and related Website information to third parties. We reserve the right to use or disclosure Non Personal Information in any manner.

Occasionally we may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide Personal Information to the appropriate governmental authorities. We will disclose Personal Information upon receipt of a court order or subpoena or to cooperate with a law enforcement investigation. We fully cooperate with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who use our services for illegal activities. We reserve the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we in good faith believe to be unlawful.

Disclosure of Personal Information

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user.
PCPA uses cookies including google to calculate analytical information, facebook integration to measure and improve advertisements, and google double-click to present users with ads that are relevant to them according to the user profile. Cookies are also used temporarily to facilitate ticket purchasing online.

Log Files

We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the web site, track user’s movement, and gather broad demographic information. This information is used for marketing and web tracking purposes only.

This Web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every Web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web site.

Surveys & Contests

From time-to-time our site will request information from users via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary, and, therefore, the user has the choice of whether or not to disclose such information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and e-mail address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age). Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site and PCPA’s customer service.

Security

PCPA intent is to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information online, such as credit card transactions and order fulfillment (which are handled by established third-party banking institutions, process agents, and distribution institutions) the information is treated with the same confidentiality that customers receive when placing phone orders. At PCPA, we also do everything in our power to protect user information off-line. All of our users’ information is limited to employees in restricted access offices where the information remains confidential. Only a limited number of employees who need the information to perform a specific job (e.g. a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. These employees must also use password-protected log-in authentication to access personal accounts. Correction / Updating Personal Information

If a user’s personally identifiable information changes (such as your zip code), or if a user no longer desires our service, we provide a way to correct, update or remove that user’s personal data provided to us. Our users choose to share their information to be placed on a mailing list, to receive our electronic newsletter, make purchases, or answer surveys.

Individual California Residents
